Solution Architect – Space Domain Awareness
CGI is looking for a Solution Architect with experience in the Space Domain Awareness domain to define and assess future capability offerings for the BOREALIS system.
Due to the secure nature of the programme, the candidate must hold UK Security Clearance or be eligible to obtain it.
This is a hybrid role based at our Leatherhead site, working alongside but independently from the agile development teams, and spanning all project phases.
Responsibilities
- Work with the client to confirm functional requirements.
- Investigate and evaluate potential solutions to satisfy those needs.
- Lead the integration of the chosen capability into the Borealis system.
- Assess performance in a representative operational environment.
- Communicate with clients to define requirements.
- Research and assess candidate solutions.
- Develop integration architecture with Borealis.
- Liaise with suppliers and the Borealis team.
- Present results to all stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Degree, Master’s or PhD in Astronomy, Physics or a related field.
- Experience working in Space Domain Awareness.
- Strong communication and presentation skills at all organisational levels.
- Knowledge of space dynamics, Space Domain Awareness concepts and issues.
- Understanding of ground‑and space‑based observations.
- Systems thinking and design principles.
- Understanding of software architectures and development methodologies.

Location & Compensation
Hybrid position based in Leatherhead, UK. Annual salary: £64,953 (estimated). Full‑time role.
