At CGI, you will play a key role in designing and operating secure, high-performance Linux-based infrastructure that supports mission-critical systems across the Space, Defence and Intelligence sector. As a Linux Infrastructure Engineer, you will build resilient, scalable platforms that enable innovation and operational excellence, applying creative solutions in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Design and deploy Linux-based infrastructure across enterprise environments.
- Automate and optimise systems using configuration management and scripting.
- Orchestrate and manage containerised platforms using Kubernetes.
- Build and maintain infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD pipelines.
- Manage and enhance storage solutions, backup and disaster recovery processes.
- Monitor and improve system performance, reliability and scalability.
- Improve deployment pipelines and support continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Strong experience managing Linux infrastructure within enterprise or secure environments, focusing on automation, scalability and reliability.
- Solid understanding of containerisation and infrastructure-as-code practices.
- Experience with Linux distributions such as Red Hat or Rocky Linux.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation (Python, Bash, Ansible).
- Experience with containerisation and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD practices.
- Experience managing storage solutions and backup/recovery processes.
- Strong troubleshooting and system optimisation skills.
- Familiarity with data tools such as NiFi (desirable).
- Experience working in secure or regulated environments (advantageous).
- Eligibility for UK Security Clearance or willingness to obtain clearance.
Position based on site near Gloucester, 5 days a week.
