Viridien is seeking a Platform Engineer - Developer Tooling & AI Workflows to design, build, and improve tooling and platform capabilities that support software development workflows and enable the use of AI within an HPC software platform. This role focuses on developing internal tools, automation, and workflow systems that integrate AI-driven capabilities into existing environments in a scalable and maintainable way. You will work across a platform ecosystem that includes Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, workflow orchestration, and observability tooling.
You will join a team focused on platform engineering and developer tooling, supporting scalable software development and emerging AI use cases. The role also works closely with the AI Labs team, contributing platform and engineering expertise to support broader AI initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Platform & Tooling Development
- Design and build internal tools to support development and operational workflows.
- Improve developer experience through automation and platform enhancements.
- Design and implement workflow automation and orchestration systems.
- AI Integration
- Support the integration of AI-driven approaches into existing systems and workflows.
- Contribute to platform capabilities that enable AI use within development environments.
- Observability & Reliability
- Contribute to monitoring, observability, and debugging of systems and workflows.
- Support the reliability and performance of platform services.
- Collaboration & Architecture
- Work with the AI Labs team on AI-related initiatives.
- Participate in architecture and design discussions across platform and tooling domains.

- Strong experience in software or platform engineering.
- Proven experience designing and building tools, platforms, or distributed systems.
- Experience working with containerised environments and Kubernetes.
- Ability to design scalable, maintainable, and high-performance systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to diagnose complex technical issues.

- Experience building developer tooling or workflow automation systems.
- Experience integrating or deploying AI/ML workflows or large language models.
- Familiarity with LLM-based systems such as prompt design, evaluation, or RAG approaches.
