Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, test and support new algorithms to improve imaging of the subsurface.
- Perform algorithm validation on synthetic and real datasets to stress test proposed approaches.
- Support rollout of new technology through internal presentations and user support.
- Promote new technologies to clients through scientific publications and presentations.
- Continuously stay abreast of technology to develop and improve research activities for business units and clients.
Qualifications:
- PhD degree level in Geophysics, Mathematics, Engineering, Physics or related technical discipline.
- Excellent coding skills in C/C++ or FORTRAN; preferably knowledge of high‑performance computation (MPI, multi‑threading, GPU, etc.).
- Strong mathematics skills; capable of abstracting geophysical concepts with mathematical languages.
- Great analytical, problem‑solving and attention to detail skills.
- Knowledge of seismic processing/imaging is desirable but not essential.
- Experience in wave propagation, linear or non‑linear inversion is a plus.
