The Learning & Development Manager will be creative, visible and approachable. You will play a leading role in shaping and delivering flexible and commercially driven development initiatives that build capability, strengthen leadership and support a high-performance, values-driven culture. You will work closely with Heads of Department, the HR team and subject-matter experts across the business to proactively identify development needs, design innovative learning solutions, and ensure colleagues have the skills, knowledge and confidence to thrive.
Essential Functions of the Job- Act as a trusted learning partner to leaders, working proactively with Heads of Department to identify team-wide and individual training needs, capability gaps and stretch opportunities that support business goals.
- Design, deliver and continuously refine flexible soft-skills and management development programmes, promoting consistent people management capability and embedding best practice across the organisation.
- Coordinate technical and company-specific training, partnering with internal subject-matter experts to harness cross-department knowledge sharing and ensure high-quality, relevant content.
- Develop and maintain a clear approach to succession planning, supporting leaders through the 9-box grid process, identifying high-potential talent and shaping development pathways.
- Build and enhance the L&D offering within the early-careers space, including the graduate programme, ensuring learning pathways and organisation structure accelerate performance and support early talent progression.
- Support, develop and provide direction to internal trainers and facilitators, building their capability, consistency and confidence in delivering engaging and effective training.
- Develop and build out a suite of training and guidance materials in collaboration with the HR team to proactively support employees, prioritising the employee experience.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning, championing new learning methodologies, digital learning solutions and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of all learning interventions, using data, feedback and performance trends to inform improvements and measure impact.
- Collaborate closely with the HR team to align learning initiatives with broader people strategies, ensuring development offerings support engagement, performance and career progression.
- Contribute to cyclical HR processes, including supporting managers with performance development planning, objective-setting and talent review outcomes.
- Proven experience in a Learning & Development role, ideally within a fast-paced, high-growth or entrepreneurial environment.
- Demonstrable experience designing and delivering training, including effective soft-skills and management development programmes.
- Previous experience managing or leading small teams.
- Strong facilitation and presentation skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience coordinating technical training programmes and partnering with subject-matter experts.
- Strong understanding of talent management processes, including succession planning and the 9-box grid.
- Ability to analyse learning needs, measure development impact and translate insights into meaningful actions.
- Confidence in implementing modern learning methodologies, including blended and digital learning solutions.
- Ability to work autonomously, take initiative, and use sound judgement.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and stakeholder-management skills.
- Team-oriented, flexible, and hands-on, with a passion for enabling others to learn and grow.
