CFP Energy is a leading provider of energy and environmental market solutions, helping organisations navigate the transition to a lower-carbon economy. The firm operates across carbon markets, environmental products and energy trading, supporting clients globally with market access, risk management and structured solutions.

Our carbon team operates across both voluntary and compliance markets, connecting project developers, corporates and financial institutions with high-quality carbon credits and environmental products.

We are looking for a commercially driven Sourcing Manager to join CFP Energy’s Voluntary Carbon team within the Sales & Trading division. The role focuses on originating and structuring access to carbon credit supply across primary and secondary markets, supporting short- and medium-term trading activity and client transactions.

You will build relationships across developers, funds, traders, and intermediaries to develop strong visibility over supply and secure preferential access to volume, positioning the team to respond to client demand. Working closely with sales and trading, you will convert this access into executable opportunities, supporting back-to-back transactions, flow trading, and structured deals across VCM, CORSIA, Article 6, and carbon tax markets. This is a front-office role in a trading-led, execution-focused environment.

Job responsibilities

  • Supply Origination & Market Coverage
    • Build and maintain a network across developers, funds, traders, and intermediaries to access supply
    • Maintain visibility over primary pipelines and secondary market availability
    • Originate spot, near-term, and forward opportunities aligned with demand
  • Commercial Structuring & Negotiation
    • Structure and negotiate access to supply, including offtake-style, forward, and secondary transactions
    • Secure preferential or differentiated access where possible
    • Align terms (price, volume, delivery, eligibility) with trading strategies and client needs
  • Trading & Execution Support
    • Support back-to-back transactions and flow trading activity
    • Assist in managing short-term inventory positions and exchange-related activity, where relevant to supply access and deal execution
    • Assess pricing, substitutability, and delivery risk across credit types and vintages
    • Help convert pipeline into executed trades
  • Market Insight
    • Track developments across VCM, CORSIA, Article 6, and carbon tax markets
    • Identify where supply sits and how it can be accessed or structured
    • Provide market insight to support pricing and client engagement

Ideal candidate

  • 3–6+ years in carbon markets or a related commercial role.
  • Experience engaging with developers, intermediaries, or secondary market participants.
  • Exposure to VCM and/or compliance-linked markets (e.g. CORSIA, Article 6, carbon tax).
  • Strong commercial mindset; able to originate, negotiate, and execute opportunities.
  • Ability to build relationships across a global supplier base.
  • Understanding of credit types, pricing, and delivery risk.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, trading-oriented environment.
