We are seeking an ambitious and entrepreneurial Junior Gas and Power Operator to join CFP Commercial Operations team and support the trading and sales desks with execution of the day-to-day operations of physical power and gas trading on various European markets we are active in.
Essential functions of the job:
- Ensure physically balanced position through preapproved strategies on the relevant European short-term markets (day-ahead/intraday power and gas markets).
- Execute nomination activities in a timely and accurate manner for gas and power market areas.
- Manage CFP’s relationships with the relevant European system operators.
- Participate in cross-border capacity auctions.
- Provide relevant regulatory reporting e.g. REMIT.
- Support implementing new and improving existing business strategies to expand CFP’s presence in the gas and power areas by identifying new arbitrage trading opportunities and providing analysis reports for Power and Gas Trading Team.
- Closely cooperate with the relevant internal and external parties including trading, sales, legal, IT, operations risk, finance and business counterparties.
- Develop internal tools to provide constant automation and efficiency for daily operations.
- Analyse power and gas market trends, regulatory changes and develop ad-hoc operational reports.
- Draft and implement relevant operational procedures.
Qualifications:
- Understanding of the basics of the European Power Market.
- First experiences in power/commodity/trading area or a similar role desirable.
- Very strong commercial judgement, excellent analytical skills and able to make accurate decisions and ability to handle a stressful environment.
- Educated to degree level or equivalent qualification.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of programming languages desirable (python, VBA) preferred.
- Prior experience in REMIT reporting preferred.
