As an experienced IT Financial Planning Analyst, you will be involved in setting up and operating IT Financial Planning processes and reporting. As a member of the product team, working autonomously and within a team, you will play a pivotal role working with the IT Leadership Team as well as the Finance function in driving change and efficiency across the organisation.
Essential functions of the job:
- Financial Planning & Forecasting
- Work with the IT Leadership team and the Finance FP&A Manager to coordinate & direct the preparation of the annual budget and financial forecasts.
- Developing financial and investment plans.
- Preparing budgets and forecasts, and presenting them to management.
- Proposing improvements in IT cost modelling & cost allocation.
- Analysis & Decision Support
- Producing accurate and timely financial reports.
- Analysing costs, identifying inconsistencies, and proposing improvements.
- Reporting
- Identifying and reporting KPIs.
- Implementing relevant KPIs for domain monitoring.
- Collaboration
- Working with other departments to develop strategic plans.
- Managing relationships with external stakeholders, such as auditors and financial institutions.
- Contributing to the automation, standardization, and optimization of financial processes.
Skills and experience required:
- Detailed knowledge of IT financial cost modelling and the associated financial treatment.
- Utilisation of data driven analysis and modelling to provide insights into financial reporting.
- Demonstrable experience of implementing process change to ensure alignment in reporting and monitoring of IT Costs.
- Proven experience of working with IT Finance systems, ideally implementing IT Financial systems.
- Experience operating within commodities and/or financial markets and associated Trading processes desirable.
- Delivered change under both waterfall and agile SDLC methodologies.
- Experience of R&D costs claim process for UK corporation tax.
- Experience of capitalising IT costs.
