This is a permanent full-time, Northern Ireland based role.

Role Overview

This role will have the responsibility and accountability for coordinating operations, managing direct labour and sub-contractors, whilst advocating safety standards, practices and protocols ensuring they are adhered to at all times.

Success in the role will be ensuring all contract work is compliant, in line with client KPI requirements and internal targets to ensure excellent service delivery is achieved to specification, and with cost budgets.

Managing CFM and client relationships is pivotal to the role, ensuring transparency and good channels of communication exist and are maintained.

  • Key Activities/ Responsibilities
  • Assisting with the organising of jobs for the operations team; reviewing diaries, material requirements and all overall operational aspects of the contracts daily
  • Responsible for ensuring Health and Safety standards and protocols are maintained with onsite teams, completing H&S audits, accident reporting and toolbox talk delivery.
  • Carry out electrical installation works as directed by either the M&E Project or Operations Manager.
  • Ensure the company is compliant with NICEIC requirements and act as the company NICEIC QS preparing and presenting all documentation needed during the NICEIC audits.
  • Ensure that prescribed forms of certification and reporting are issued for all completed electrical work in accordance with BS 7671.

Ensure accurate and up-to-date records and documentation related to electrical work, including certificates, reports, and any other required forms as prescribed by NICEIC and relevant standards are maintained.

  • Liaising with and managing sub-contractor relations, and performance ensuring quality and performance standards are being met in line with service delivery.
  • Attend all required meetings, ensuring that information for reporting is up to date and accurate.
  • Carry out thorough Pre & Post Inspection Surveys to agree measurements and ensure information is adequate with an accurate list of details relating to materials & work requirements.
  • Liaising regularly with client Maintenance Officers on any queries or amended works.
  • Ensure sub-contractors and CFM electricians are trained to know that all electrical installations are to be properly tested and certified before being handed over including uploading of all NICEIC or Equivalent forms.

Ensure that appropriate test instruments are available and calibrated for the range and scale of electrical work undertaken.

  • Provide supervision of electrical works across all contracts held by CFM ensuring compliance with the latest BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations), associated British Standards, and Industry Codes of Practice.
  • Assist with the process for reviewing, approving and on-boarding new electrical supply chain partners.
  • Ensure electrical installations are carried out to a high standard and meet safety regulations.
  • Conduct regular audits on all supply chain partners to ensure they are compliant with all necessary standards.

Including all paperwork and qualifications.

Verify that all personnel involved in electrical work are competent, adequately supervised, and working in compliance with Health and Safety regulations.

  • Monitor on-going and completed works by CFM electricians and electrical Subcontracts to ensure they align with required quality standards and specifications.
  • Ensure that records of test results, inspections and maintenance activities are properly documented and stored in a manner compliant with industry standards.
  • Keep records of any complaints received regarding technical standards of work and ensure that corrective actions are taken and documents.
  • Ensure that appropriate test instruments are available and calibrated for the range and scale of electrical work undertaken.
  • Maintain records that demonstrate the consistency and ongoing accuracy of test instruments.
  • Ensure electricians have lock off kits, test equipment and any other equipment they may need as required.

Develop and implement Safe Systems of Work processes and practices for CFM electricians and supply chain.

  • Ensure access to and proper use of equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE) to ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation and carry out agreed number of CFM Safety Culture checks.
  • Ensure that all electrical work is carried out safely and in line with Health and Safety regulations and CSR cards are carried.
  • Monitor compliance with safety procedures and respond to any safety incidents or issues that arise on-site.
  • Any other duties deemed necessary by CFM Management or required to ensure successful delivery of all ongoing works and contracts within the CFM workstream.

Education/ Experience

Essential

  • CSR Card
  • Experience in Construction Industry
  • A valid UK Driver's Licence
  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrotechnical Services & Installation or equivalent
  • City & Guilds 18th Edition or equivalent
  • City & Guilds 2391 or 2394/2395 or equivalent
  • Preferred
  • Previous experience in a Foreman/ Supervisor Role
  • Competent in using PDA/ Phones or Tablets

  • Ability to focus, remain calm and problem solve.
