Due to a period of growth and innovation, cfes have an exciting opportunity for a Site Manager to join us on a full time and either contract or permanent basis. In this pivotal role you will manage building contracts on-site, so that projects are completed in line with the requirements, within budget and on time.

About the Role

The Site Manager is accountable for overseeing, monitoring and managing the progress of the projects ensuring they meet the specifications, budget and time.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Project Manager to plan the project effectively, by ensuring that the project requirements, specification, design drawings, health and safety proposals are all read, understood and agreed, and that a project programme is in place.
  • Set up site office, welfare facilities, and an emergency plan compliant with health and safety proposals and CDM 2015 regulations.
  • Develop material and labour schedules in coordination with relevant teams to ensure timely procurement and subcontractor arrangements.
  • Maintain and track the site programme, updating progress records and sharing weekly updates with the Project Manager and Contract Administrator.
  • Secure completed works, site perimeter, stored materials, and plant throughout the project.
  • Conduct site inductions and enforce safety measures for all operatives and visitors.
  • Supervise and manage all site operatives, ensuring adherence to safety, quality standards, cleanliness, and waste reduction.
  • Ensure all works meet current codes of practice and technical specifications.
  • Maintain accurate records for site attendance, inductions, toolbox talks, accidents, deliveries, safety inspections, and staff-related forms.

Who we're looking for

  • The postholder must be able to demonstrate leadership skills for managing site operatives, subcontractors, and others effectively.
  • Strong decision-making skills to handle on-site challenges promptly.
  • Planning, scheduling, and coordinating resources to meet deadlines.
  • Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Practical construction experience: all round knowledge and understanding of construction trades, building, civils, finishing trades, carpentry, plumbing, heating, ventilation, AC and Electrical.
  • Experience in the supervision of the project and the staff working on it.
  • Qualified First Aider.
  • CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card – management or supervisory level.
  • SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification.
