Our International Technology Underwriting Team is at the forefront of underwriting emerging technology risks in territories including Australia and RoW and has enjoyed rapid growth over the last few years. This has opened up a new opportunity for an ambitious professional with previous underwriting or broking experience who is excited by the prospect of joining a collaborative, high-performing team. You'll have the opportunity to build strong broker relationships, deepen your technical expertise and underwrite business across multiple product lines.

About the role

As a Technology Underwriter, you'll be responsible for developing and managing a profitable portfolio of technology business across multiple classes, including Professional Indemnity (E&O), Cyber and General Liability. You'll work closely with brokers and colleagues to evaluate risks, deliver outstanding service, and help drive innovation across the product offering.

  • Underwriting new business and renewal opportunities
  • Building and strengthening broker relationships to identify and secure profitable growth opportunities
  • Acting as a trusted advisor to brokers, explaining product features, coverage enhancements and market developments
  • Delivering presentations to internal and external audiences
  • Researching emerging technologies, legislation and regulatory developments to inform underwriting decisions and product innovation
  • Providing technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced members of the underwriting team
  • Contributing to strategic projects, including product enhancements, new product launches and process improvements
  • Supporting the achievement of team growth, retention and profitability objectives
  • Representing CFC at broker meetings and market events

About you

We are looking for a driven self-starter with a strong work ethic who can contribute to a fast-paced working environment and excel within a high performance team.

  • Significant underwriting or broking experience within technology, cyber or professional indemnity/E&O
  • Strong technical knowledge of E&O, technology or cyber insurance products, with experience across multiple lines of business
  • Excellent relationship-building, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities, combined with exceptional attention to detail
  • The communication skills and credibility to present to brokers, colleagues and clients in both small and large group settings
  • A genuine interest in emerging technologies and the evolving risks facing technology companies
  • You will be expected to work at a high pace and intensity that underpins the successful framework of the CFC business and develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support our ambitious growth plans
