IT Operations Engineer

Description
You will be part of the technology team, the engine room of the business, providing bespoke systems that give CFC its competitive advantage in this dynamic marketplace. You will work within our Technology Operations team to provide higher levels of support to our internal and external customers.
In this role, you will be responsible for resolving escalations from the Service Desk incidents and requests, ensuring the stable and efficient operation of our IT infrastructure. You will own BAU project deployments, build CSI initiatives, and provide proactive support and maintenance across all IT Operations functions.
You will enable around 1000 employees, based in the UK, US, and Australia, to operate effectively and efficiently.
About the role
You will provide 2nd and 3rd line support for IT/application incidents and service requests, ensuring timely resolution. Responsibilities include:
Troubleshooting and resolving complex hardware, software, and network issues. You should have experience in:
- Writing and optimizing SQL queries for data retrieval, reporting, and manipulation
- Managing and administering Microsoft 365 services, including Entra ID, Exchange Online, OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams, and Power Platform
- Maintaining and updating automations, reducing repeated calls, and working with CSI & Development teams to improve services
About you
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of Intune management and deployment, supporting Windows and iOS laptops and mobile devices. You should have prior experience in a 2nd/3rd line support role and:
- Strong SQL knowledge
- Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems
- Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V)
- Proficiency in networking concepts (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN)
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) is a plus
