Thanks to our continued growth, the Life Science team at CFC is looking to welcome a new Assistant Underwriter with experience in Underwriting and an interest in the Life Sciences sector.
Our specialist Underwriters offer three tailored policy packages designed for traditional Life Sciences, the digital Medtech sector and Dietary Supplements. Innovation is at the heart of what we do and our Life Science team exemplifies this by continuously evolving our products to address the unique risks faced by providers in this space. This role is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious professional eager to join a fast-growing, forward-thinking organisation.
As an Assistant Underwriter you’ll learn to develop and underwrite profitable business within CFC’s Life Science team. You’ll support the team across a variety of areas, including:
- Responding to enquiries and renewal submissions from brokers in a timely and professional manner, delivering a first class service to produce quotations within agreed SLAs and authority parameters;
- Explaining the features, advantages and benefits of Life Science insurance products and coverage enhancements, supporting product launches and raising awareness of new and existing products;
- Assisting with the preparation and delivery of internal and external presentations on CFC products, key trends and emerging exposures;
- Conducting research to develop subject matter expertise and investigate relevant legislation/regulation/compliance issues affecting our target territories and markets;
- Supporting the team in marketing Life Science capabilities through existing contacts and new relationships, and over time, attending ad-hoc business trips in the UK and internationally as required;
- Assisting the team with the production of reports and statistics to support the monitoring of team performance.
We are looking for driven, self-starters with a strong work ethic who can contribute to a fast-paced working environment and work within a high performance team. The successful candidate will possess a sales- and service-oriented approach, demonstrate confidence and professionalism both on the phone and in meetings with brokers, and show a clear drive and capability to support the growth of the team.
The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years experience within Insurance, in either an underwriting or broking environment, with multi-class insurance exposure preferred. Previous exposure to life science or P&C products within an insurance environment, work environment and/or educationally would also be beneficial.
You’ll be curious to learn and improve your underwriting ability and knowledge on the constantly evolving life science market. You will be expected to work at a high pace and intensity that underpins the successful framework of the CFC business and develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
