We are looking for a Tax Analyst to join our growing Tax team, who will be responsible for preparing and/or assisting with the preparation of the Group’s tax returns and calculations, covering both direct and indirect taxes for the UK and Group companies. This Tax Analyst role will support the Tax Manager and Tax Accountant in preparing tax reporting information for other tax-related matters including Senior Accounting Officer (SAO), Corporate Criminal Offence (CCO), transfer pricing, withholding tax, foreign exchange and tax policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of the quarterly UK group VAT return
  • Prepare quarterly overseas VAT return data for review by Tax Accountant
  • Assist in the preparation of the quarterly UK and overseas CT payment on account calculations
  • Assist in the preparation of UK and overseas annual CT computations and returns, supporting the Tax Manager, the Tax Accountant and global group finance teams, liaising with external advisors on overseas compliance.
  • Assist with preparing the annual PAYE Settlement Agreement (PSA) return, P11D(b) calculation and other employer compliance activities as required
  • Undertake monthly analysis of general ledger accounts, working with Management Accounts team to identify tax sensitive items for PSA and CT purposes
  • Assist with internal, interim and year end audits
  • Assist with the monitoring and review of tax controls documentation, ensuring it is kept up to date
  • Monitor tax team mailbox and act as the initial point of contact for tax queries across the business

About you

This Tax Analyst role will suit candidates who are either a qualified or part-qualified accountant, or studying for the CTA/ATT qualification. Experience of working with in-house tax would be desirable, specifically in an international setting. Experience working in the insurance sector or financial services industry would be an advantage, however not essential. Netsuite accounting software and SAP Concur would be beneficial.
