Working within CFC’s global Human Resources team, the HR Specialist plays a key role in supporting the delivery of the people agenda across the business. This role sits within HR Operations and works closely with the HR Business Partnering team and HR Centres of Excellence (Talent & Development, Reward, TA, HR Ops & Payroll) to ensure seamless collaboration and effective delivery across the full HR/employee lifecycle.

This is a delivery‑focused, hands‑on role, suited to someone who enjoys operating at the centre of HR activity and providing high‑quality execution. You’ll support HR Business Partners by owning core people processes, providing reliable HR advisory and operational support, and ensuring people activity is delivered accurately, compliantly and at pace within a fast‑moving, regulated environment.

Alongside day‑to‑day responsibilities, you’ll contribute to initiatives that embed CFC’s culture and values, supporting continuous improvement in people processes and enabling managers and HR Business Partners to operate effectively.

About the role
  • Support the delivery, through HR Business Partners, of people programmes and initiatives that enhance CFC’s culture, including performance and absence management, talent development and feedback, global mobility, employee engagement, retention and internal communications.
  • Manage end‑to‑end employee lifecycle processes, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of key milestones such as probation reviews, family leave (including maternity and paternity), absence management, flexible working requests, global mobility and offboarding, in line with HR policies and procedures.
  • Provide HR support to HR Business Partners on employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, conduct, performance, capability and absence management, escalating appropriately on a case‑by‑case basis.
  • Provide specialist and administrative support for employee relations activity, including note‑taking, coordination of meetings and preparation of supporting documentation.
  • Support informed decision‑making by providing HR data, metrics and insights where required.
  • Promote and apply best practice in line with HR policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Support and manage employee check‑ins, including new‑joiner check‑ins and exit interviews, escalating issues and identifying opportunities for continuous process improvement.
  • Support HR Business Partners across the talent lifecycle, including promotions, workforce planning, remuneration and the annual pay and reward cycle, ensuring best practice and compliance with legal and contractual requirements.
  • Uphold GDPR standards and act as a champion for the protection of confidential employee information.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, including SMCR (Senior Managers and Certification Regime), escalating risks or issues as necessary.
  • Ensure strong connectivity between HR Operations and HR Business Partnering, and that accurate information is communicated effectively to payroll.
  • Build trusted working relationships across HR and the wider business, acting as a reliable and responsive point of contact.
About you
  • Degree (or equivalent) in Human Resources or a related discipline, with generalist HR experience. CIPD qualification (or working towards) is desirable.
  • Proven experience in a generalist HR role, with exposure across the full employee lifecycle in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Practical, hands‑on experience supporting core HR activity, including employee relations, performance and absence management, and policy application.
  • Experience working closely with HR Business Partners and wider HR teams to support effective delivery across multiple business areas.
  • Sound understanding of employment legislation and HR best practice, with the judgement to manage risk and escalate issues appropriately.
  • Experience working with HR systems and people data; familiarity with HiBob or similar HRIS is highly desirable.
  • Highly organised, discreet and delivery‑focused, with strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities at pace.
Core Values
  • Love what you do: We show up each day ready to take on the world. Our passion and intensity set us apart and makes the difference to our colleagues, customers, brokers and carriers.
  • Challenge everything: We’re never afraid to question the way that things are done and we constantly challenge ourselves and others to make things better.
