Exciting opportunity to lead a major English language programme in South East Asia. CfBT runs the world's largest, longest‐running and most successful programme to develop English language proficiency in government schools. Working alongside the Ministry of Education in Brunei Darussalam since 1984, the programme delivers innovative, high‐impact teaching and learning for Bruneian students. Through specialised national support and continuous building of our own and local capacity across schools, we support our students to become proficient English speakers and confident learners.
We are seeking an exceptional leader to serve as Chief Executive Officer of CfBT in Brunei. This important role will drive the strategic direction, operational excellence, and educational impact. You will lead and develop strategic relationships with the Ministry of Education, Board of Trustees, and other key stakeholders, representing CfBT and Education Development Trust (edt) at the highest levels. You will oversee the delivery of the English Language Teaching Project (ELTP) and broader educational initiatives, ensuring quality, compliance, and financial sustainability.

Qualifications
- Experience building effective relationships with key stakeholders and government officials across South East Asia, with a track record of developing influential networks throughout the region.
- Exceptional interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills, and ability to represent CfBT confidently and effectively at the highest levels.
- Proven experience leading organisations or large‐scale programmes aimed at improving educational or skills outcomes, with a focus on innovation and measurable impact.
- Proven success in delivering sustainable financial performance, commercial decision making at scale and high‐value contract negotiations.
- A shared commitment to our values as a not‐for‐profit organisation and to diversity and inclusion.
