CFA UK is seeking practitioner subject matter experts to support the authoring of learning materials. CFA UK produces learning materials which are updated on a yearly basis, to ensure continued relevance and to keep materials up to date, which is essential in a fast-moving space. We are now looking to contract with investment practitioner subject matter experts to undertake the authoring of learning materials, with guidance and input from the Practitioner Panel.

We are seeking an investment practitioner with subject matter expertise in one or more of the following areas:

  • Investment Product Developer with expertise in the commercial proposition of an investment business (i.e. addressable market, product specific considerations and opportunities and constraints)
  • AI, Innovation and Technology subject matter expert with expertise in the operational risks and opportunities in AI, Innovation and FinTech, Cybersecurity, Outsourcing, White labelling and Tokenisation

Authors will create the learning materials using their subject matter expertise, with guidance from, and in collaboration with, the Practitioner Panel. Full author guidance, including the CFA UK house style guide and chapter template will be provided. The author has 8-10 weeks in which to produce the first draft, aiming to submit the 1st draft (in the form of a Word file, using the CFA UK chapter template) by the end of July/beginning of August. Panel members will review and comment on the 1st draft by mid August, and the author would submit a revised draft by the end of August/beginning of September. Any final Panel comments/minor changes to be resolved in September for sign-off.

Fee payable: £6,000 for creating the chapter of the learning materials relating to the commercial proposition. Circa £3,000 for co-authoring the chapter of the learning materials relating to AI and innovation.

Insight into qualification learning materials development and delivery, and you will help define and determine the body of knowledge for candidates. Build your profile within the CFA UK network of volunteers, the wider membership and the industry. The opportunity to meet an interesting and engaged group of fellow practitioners from a range of sectors. Contributing brings a “shared experience” amongst peers that has long lasting benefits for your career. Author acknowledgements within the published learning materials, with a view to building a long-lasting relationship, and writing for future editions of the learning materials.
