Who we are looking for: The Sustainable Investing Research Analyst is a member of the Sustainable Investing Research team within State Street Investment Management's Sustainable Investing organization. The role is responsible for conducting investment-relevant thematic research to support State Street Investment Management's industry leading sustainable investing research capability and sustainable investment solution innovation in order to meet rising client demand. The position is based in London and reports to the Global Head of Sustainable Investing Research.

What you will be responsible for:
- Lead and conduct research on sustainable investing themes, including emerging topics such as natural capital and biodiversity, with a focus on building the associated investment thesis behind these topics.
- Develop thought leadership pieces to demonstrate State Street Investment Management's sustainable investing capabilities, focusing on financial materiality.
- Enable sustainable investing product innovation by developing and supporting credible implementation methodologies to new investment approaches, e.g., sustainable outcome investing.
- Partner with PM teams to conduct asset class-specific research on sustainability factors and to support client solutions.
Required qualifications and skills:
- 7+ years of experience in investment research and thought leadership in sustainable investing or related fields, in the asset management industry, preferably with a large global asset manager, asset owner, or consulting organization.
- Understanding of the investment process and how sustainability factors can be integrated to achieve client objectives.
- Subject matter expertise in environmental or social sustainability topics e.g. climate transition and physical risks, biodiversity, and human capital.
- Strong intellectual curiosity and passion in understanding how sustainability factors drive long-term value, with a practical mindset in applying the research output to create and enhance investment solutions.
- Self-starter with ability to set priorities and execute research projects.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate successfully in a global team setting.
- Bachelor's degree required, CFA or other industry accreditation a plus.
