Are you an experienced enterprise program leader who can bring structure, judgement and momentum to complex business change?

Do you enjoy leading program managers, partnering with senior stakeholders, and turning strategy into practical delivery across a global organisation?

CFA Institute is hiring a Senior Director, Enterprise Program Management to lead the business-facing program management pillar within the Program Management & Enterprise Transformation team in Global Operations.

In this role, you will help strengthen how enterprise initiatives are planned, governed and delivered, working across Strategy 2030 priorities, Business Change work and a multi-million-dollar strategic program portfolio that matters to the organisation's future.

You will lead a team of business-facing program managers and act as a senior partner to the business, helping translate complex priorities into clear plans, delivery rhythms, milestones, risks and outcomes.

You will also help evolve the program management operating model, champion change-management discipline, and support smarter, more consistent ways of working across the portfolio, including the pragmatic use of agile, waterfall and hybrid delivery approaches.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and develop a team of business-facing program managers supporting strategic and enterprise change initiatives.
  • Oversee multiple programs at portfolio level, helping manage priorities, dependencies, risks, milestones, funding considerations and benefits delivery.
  • Help manage portfolio-level trade-offs across priorities, resources, funding, dependencies and delivery risk.
  • Partner with business leaders to create clear delivery plans from ambiguous or evolving requirements.
  • Act as a senior escalation point and problem-solving partner for program managers and stakeholders when delivery needs to be unblocked.
  • Champion practical program management discipline, change frameworks and consistent ways of working across Global Operations and wider business partners.
  • Apply the right delivery approach for the work, flexing between agile, waterfall and hybrid methods rather than forcing a single methodology.
  • Contribute to the continued refresh of the PMO operating model, including process improvement, program governance and the thoughtful use of tools, data and AI-enabled practices.
  • What We’re Looking For
  • Senior program management, enterprise PMO, transformation or business change leadership experience in a complex organisation.
  • Clear evidence of overseeing multiple programs or a broader portfolio, rather than only delivering individual projects.
  • Strong program management craft, including planning, governance, delivery rhythm, dependency management, risk management and benefits focus.
  • Experience leading, coaching or developing program managers or similar delivery professionals.
  • Ability to build structure from ambiguity and partner credibly with senior business stakeholders.
  • A pragmatic, enabling leadership style that brings discipline without slowing the business down.
  • Comfort working across business and technology-enabled change, with the judgement to flex between agile, waterfall and hybrid delivery approaches depending on the work.
  • Confidence working with technology-enabled change, with enough delivery fluency to partner effectively with technical teams without needing to be the technical program lead.
  • Differentiators
  • Experience in financial services, education, professional associations, Ed Tech, consulting or other complex stakeholder-led environments.
  • Experience refreshing PMO ways of working, change frameworks, portfolio governance, program reporting or benefits realisation practices.
  • Relevant program, portfolio or change-management qualifications such as PMP, Pg MP, PRINCE2, Prosci or similar.
  • Exposure to AI-enabled process improvement, program tooling, portfolio analytics or delivery automation.
  • Why Join Us
