A leading UK mid-market investment banking platform is looking to appoint an Analyst/Associate into its growing Restructuring team in London. The platform is recognised for advising corporates, sponsors, lenders and other stakeholders on a broad range of stressed and distressed situations across the UK market. The team works on liquidity advisory, refinancing processes, contingency planning and broader balance sheet restructuring mandates, often operating in complex and time-sensitive environments. Key Responsibilities
- Support execution across a range of restructuring and special situations mandates
- Build and maintain detailed financial models, including three-statement models, liquidity forecasts and downside scenarios
- Assist with strategic options analysis, refinancing reviews and capital structure assessments
- Prepare client presentations, lender materials, information packs and board documentation
- Conduct financial and operational analysis on stressed or underperforming businesses
- Support stakeholder coordination across lenders, sponsors, management teams, legal advisers and other parties
- Assist senior team members on accelerated sale processes, debt advisory and contingency planning assignments
- Monitor live workstreams and support project management across multiple transactions simultaneously
- Contribute to research, market analysis and preparation of pitch materials for prospective mandates
Candidate Profile
- 1-4 years' experience within investment banking, restructuring, or modelling
- Strong financial modelling fundamentals
- Experience supporting execution of live advisory or financing mandates
- Highly analytical with strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
- Strong understanding of debt analysis, cash flow forecasting or stressed situations
- Strong communication skills and ability to operate effectively in fast-paced environments
- Demonstrated interest in restructuring, special situations or leveraged finance
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong academic background
- ACA, ACCA, CFA or equivalent qualifications are advantageous but not essential
- Strong work ethic and desire to build a long-term career within restructuring advisory
