Do you enjoy turning business needs into clear requirements, user stories and practical technology improvements? Are you comfortable working across legal, risk, compliance and product teams to improve systems, controls and data flows? Looking for a Business Analyst role where you can build deep platform knowledge, take ownership early and work directly with senior stakeholders? CFA Institute is looking for a Business Analyst to support our Corporate and Advisory Services (CAS) technology and process environment. This role sits close to legal, risk and control-related work, with a strong focus on platforms including LogicGate, Onit and NetDocuments. The role combines hands-on BAU platform support with project discipline. You will help migrate manual and legacy processes into more structured systems, document requirements and user stories, support enhancements and testing, and bring clearer process structure to an area where data flow, controls and operational consistency matter.
What You’ll Do
- Support CAS platforms including LogicGate, Onit and NetDocuments, with LogicGate expected to be a key focus over the next 12 months.
- Help migrate manual, Excel-based and legacy regulatory/risk reporting processes into more structured platform workflows.
- Elicit and document requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows and supporting materials.
- Support system enhancements, configuration, testing cycles, UAT, issue resolution and change documentation.
- Bring project discipline to small projects and enhancements through planning, milestones, toll gates and delivery follow-up.
- Partner with product, legal, risk, compliance, engineering and business stakeholders to translate needs into practical solutions.
- Contribute to process improvements that improve efficiency, controls, data integrity and automation across the back-office portfolio.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in business analysis, process analysis or systems analysis, with evidence of turning business needs into clear requirements and documentation.
- Practical exposure to Agile ways of working, Jira/Jira Product Discovery, user stories, acceptance criteria or similar delivery tools.
- Experience supporting system enhancements, process workflows, UAT/testing, issue resolution or operational platform change.
- Exposure to legal operations, compliance, risk, control, regulatory reporting, financial services or similar process-led environments would be highly relevant.
- Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Confidence to ask questions early, clarify ambiguity and work with senior stakeholders in a thoughtful and professional way.
- Comfort using AI or LLM tools to improve productivity, analysis, documentation or process work is a useful differentiator.
Nice To Have
- Experience with LogicGate, Onit or NetDocuments.
- Exposure to SOX, control infrastructure, regulatory reporting, legal/risk technology or compliance operations.
- Experience in a smaller organisation or team where you have had to work across several process or compliance areas rather than one narrow specialism.
Why Join Us
- Build breadth across CAS, legal/risk process, product delivery and wider enterprise process improvement.
- Take ownership as your knowledge grows, becoming a key point of contact for important platforms and enhancements.
- Work on meaningful process and platform improvements that reduce manual work and support stronger controls.
- Develop in a role that combines structured business analysis with practical project delivery and operational problem-solving.
Compensation and Benefits
Expected salary range: US $85,000-$105,000 / UK £50,000-£60,000 per year. All salary ranges are subject to adjustment based on location, experience, education, and other factors relevant to the position. Additional benefits include eligibility for an annual incentive bonus, a 12% employer contribution to a 401(k) or pension plan, and a comprehensive medical benefits package.
