Reporting into and working closely with the CIO – you will act on their behalf in conferences and face‑to‑face interactions with journalists, clients, and advisers, comfortably and confidently discussing markets and macro‑economic events. As the Investment Strategist for QI, you will partner the wider Quilter External Communications team to collaboratively build Quilter Investors’ profile through media coverage, including television, radio, print and online – and will use your own research and expertise to co‑create content to support PR and marketing communications, such as written, video or podcast materials. There will also be an expectation to maintain an active social media presence, especially via Twitter and LinkedIn.
You will work with our Global Partners and in‑house Investment team to leverage their research capability and create interesting investment output, helping to establish QI as a source of high‑quality investment research and insight. Additionally, you will be able to chair our Tactical Asset Allocation meetings, helping to establish how our clients’ assets are positioned and produce appropriate material to communicate this to all of our stakeholders.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally be CFA qualified with substantial investment experience in asset or wealth management. You will have good working knowledge of economics, financial markets, key asset classes, ESG and be confident and comfortable discussing investment process, performance, and risk. The ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written formats is essential for this role, as is the ability to think fast, using your own depth of knowledge to naturally adapt messages to different audiences, such as advisers and consumers. Strong media skills are ideal, but full training will be provided. This role will include many early starts and late finishes dependent on media bookings (for example BBC Wake Up To Money) and the news agenda. Willingness to be flexible with time and responding to ad‑hoc media requests is a must. Media profile and media contacts would also be preferable, but not essential. You will need to be willing and able to travel, to be present at industry and company events. The majority of these will be day/evening only and in the London area but will from time to time be national and include overnight stays (an example being Quilter Financial Planning syndicates).
