Vanguard Credit Research is recruiting an investment associate to support the Active High Yield Credit Team. The team is expanding its global focus with the build‑out of European High Yield credit capabilities and is focused on investing dedicated portfolios, portions of broader credit funds, and supporting future business development.
You will work with an established group of investment professionals to maximize the risk/return potential of high‑yield investments while collaborating with the larger Credit Research Team. In this role, you will assist in providing financial modeling, valuation, deep fundamental economic and corporate research, and relative value views to the team on high‑yield bond and bank loan investments in the European market.
Our research process is focused and collaborative, and you will work with senior analysts, traders and portfolio managers to provide verbal and written opinions for primary and secondary market investment opportunities. In addition to investment research, you must be willing to take on strategic projects both within the High Yield team and for the broader Fixed Income platform.
Qualifications (What it takes)
- Undergraduate degree. Graduate degree and CFA preferred.
- At least 4 years of experience as a qualified accountant, banking or buyside/sell-side/rating agency corporate research analyst.
- Excellent quantitative/modeling skills.
- Strong drive to independently build market and sector knowledge.
- Knowledge of leveraged credit is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Team player with strong interpersonal skills.
