The Role
Project Officers and Senior Project Officers will lead teams in British archaeology projects, ensuring that work meets all Project Designs, Briefs, and Specifications and that schedules are completed within resource allocations and timescales. They will maintain strong relationships with colleagues, clients and their agents, curatorial authorities and visitors. The role involves fieldwork, recording, report production, and the application of technology and technical solutions to support project delivery. Staff receive extensive professional development and skills training, including HR and occupational health support where necessary. Candidates will demonstrate conscientiousness, reliability, and a supportive attitude toward colleagues while upholding high standards of safety and quality.
Requirements
- Relevant degree level education or practical experience in the UK (or equivalent overseas).
- Flexible approach to deployment and willingness to travel and work away.
- Proven supervisory and leadership experience.
- Membership of the CIfA preferred and a current CSCS Card desirable.
- Excellent team‑leader with good communication skills.
- Reliable and motivated with good organisational skills.
- An appreciation of inclusivity, diversity and dignity and respect in the workplace.
- Full manual driving licence essential.
- Microsoft Office skills.
