Emergency Response, Safety and Security Officer

This diverse role focuses on promoting emergency preparedness, security and safety through site visibility, on-site and classroom exercise scenarios, and providing training for employees, contractors, and visitors. The successful candidate will liaise with CF personnel in the UK and North America as part of the Security and CERC councils, the emergency response and security provider, and external agencies as required.

Key Accountabilities
- Coordination of the site emergency services security, safety and compliance training.
- Developing and sustaining a working relationship with the on-site Emergency Response/Security, training providers, and other key local emergency or security stakeholders.
- Site Fire protection systems including coordinating with external/internal, auditors as required.
- Focal point for site communication systems and contractor management.
- Measuring emergency services, security performance by monitoring KPI data and encouraging continuous improvement.
- Monitoring current and future emergency response, security regulatory requirements as well as Company current and future EHS Standards.
- The sites Incident Duty Team competence, regular emergency exercise sessions simulations with response team and site operations/duty teams to cover the COMAH set scenarios.
- Duty rota coordination and Incident management response documentation for plant areas, off-site Emergency Control Centres and on the company SharePoint site.
- Liaising with site departments to ensure emergency services, security and safety policies, programs and processes meet or exceed regulatory and company expectations.
- Acting as the location’s key representative on appropriate Corporate Security andEmergency Response Councils. Analysing data, resources, constraints and alignment with overall EHS and site annual strategy
- Continuous development of leadership and technical skills and promoting a learning environment that encourages efficient and effective processes.
- Communication or emergency response, security and training requirement to the site via learning platform and other avenues as required.
- Embedding the emergency response, security and safety culture of the site.
Skills and competencies you will have
- A minimum of 5 years directly related experience with demonstrable knowledge of industrial emergency response and/or chemical location security operations, and COMAH regulation knowledge.
- NEBOSH General Certificate/Diploma desirable.
- A recognised emergency response and/or security certification is preferred.
- Compliance training/learning and development knowledge and experience preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, change management skills, analytical and decision-making abilities, and aptitude to deal effectively and diplomatically with regulatory authorities and external auditors.
- Be able to demonstrate leadership capabilities including employee development, employee engagement and training skills.
- Ability to manage and influence both up and down in the organisation.
- Computing skills and proficiency with Windows operating system and Microsoft Office suite of business applications required.
