About The Role
The Payroll Consultant will be responsible for providing expert advice and assistance to clients on all aspects of payroll administration and compliance. The consultant will work closely with clients to understand their payroll needs and provide customised solutions to meet those needs.
What you\’ll do
- Assess clients\’ payroll systems and processes, identifying areas for improvement and recommending solutions.
- Deliver accurate start-to-finish payroll processing on a monthly/weekly basis for 1,500+ employees, including filing monthly and annual reports with HMRC.
- Manage Tax-year End processes – P11Ds, P60s & PSAs.
- Communicate with clients in a professional and timely manner.
- Ensure adherence to all legislation.
- Create journals and ad-hoc reports.
- Liaise with HMRC when required.
- Act as the go-to expert for our customers on general payroll matters, issues, pitfalls, data inconsistencies, or conflicts impacting payroll processing, and advise on best practices.
- Collaborate with our internal product and development teams to resolve technical challenges and complex payroll issues.
- Identify and communicate improvement potentials for internal payroll support processes and our payroll offerings.
- Implement new features according to business requirements.
Skills And Experience Valued In The Role
Essential:
- End-to-end payroll experience.
- In-depth payroll knowledge, including manual calculations and auto-enrolment.
- Proficiency with payroll software and Microsoft Office suite.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Desirable:
- Part or fully CIPP qualified or other relevant payroll certification.
- Implementation experience.
