YOUR ROLE
We have an exciting opportunity for a highly experienced and skilled warehouse Solution Design Engineer at our customers automotive site based in Solihull. This role will see you linking all onsite material planning and logistics activities inline with CEVA functional teams to deliver varying project requirements. You will respond and effectively plan for changes in the supply chain caused by demand variances, cost or customer challenges. This pivotal role will see you based at our Solihull operation Monday to Friday, you will need to be flexible in working hours and days dependant on project needs, therefore weekend work may be required.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
- Calculate the volumes and flows of parts throughout the operation.
- Conduct regular resource planning to identify and fulfil resources and skills required to meet business needs and objectives.
- Design parts layout in the warehouse and lineside environments considering LEAN methodologies.
- Work with the production and operational teams to identify suitable delivery methods.
- Provide detailed logistics support at the request of the customer.
- Benchmark and review current operations to ensure a best-in-class service.
- Advocate a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
- Support in the development of the planning master schedule.
- Support ERP system development, testing and reporting issues.
- Ensure the timely delivery of all projects, highlighting risks and providing solutions.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
To be successful in your application you will have proven experience working within a warehouse planning or solutions design role where you have experience in designing and deploying operational improvements and projects. You will have a strong understanding of operational layouts and warehousing or production environments, ideally within a fast paced and changing environment.
It goes without saying that you will be an excellent communicator and problem-solver with a keen interest in continuous improvement, LEAN methodologies or solutions design. You will be able to build effective working relationships at all levels with a strong customer ethos, confident in preparing and presenting statistical reports, data analytics and operational plans, therefore, you will be practiced in MS packages and software.
It would be desirable however not essential if you have experience of using AutoCAD or MTM software.
