YOUR ROLE
Are you ready to make an impact? Join our energetic team at ADC Barton under Needwood as a Weekend Shift Controller and be at the heart of our operation, supporting a high‑profile customer. In this critical role, you’ll help ensure our weekend operations run smoothly, keeping the team efficient, effective, and on track to deliver excellence every day. You will be part of a collaborative, supportive environment where your contribution truly makes a difference – and where no two weekends are ever the same! The working hours for this role are Saturday and Sunday, 06:00 – 18:00. This role pays £22,800 per annum.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
- Manage and lead a team of up to 10 warehouse colleagues per shift, ensuring productivity, accuracy, and a positive team environment.
- Take full ownership of weekend logistics operations, ensuring the seamless flow of aircraft parts, materials, and shipments.
- Coordinate and prioritise AOG (Aircraft on Ground) and other critical requests, driving rapid resolution with minimal operational disruption.
- Maintain full compliance with aerospace regulations, documentation standards, dangerous goods rules, export controls, and traceability requirements.
- Proactively identify and resolve operational challenges affecting material movement, escalating only when necessary.
- Ensure accurate, real‑time data by overseeing the correct use of logistics, MRO, and tracking systems for parts, shipments, and inventory.
- Prepare clear end‑of‑shift reports, summarising key events, risks, KPIs, and handover notes for the weekday management team.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
- Proven experience in leading and motivating teams in a fast‑paced environment.
- Proven experience in picking and packing, ideally using SAP or Oracle systems, with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
- A reliable team player who can also take initiative and work independently when needed.
- Excellent communication skills, able to coordinate effectively with colleagues and support seamless weekend operations.
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment, prioritising tasks to ensure critical shipments and materials are delivered on time.
- Able to identify and troubleshoot operational issues, ensuring smooth flow of parts, materials, and shipments.
- Awareness of compliance requirements, including documentation standards, traceability, and handling of critical materials.
- Able to provide clear handover reports and updates, supporting continuity for weekday management teams.
