About the Role:
This Assistant Estimator - Construction / Civil Engineering position offers the chance to work alongside an experienced Estimator, helping to provide accurate and competitive costings for highway safety products and parapet systems. You’ll assist in preparing detailed estimates for supply and installation projects, working closely with design and engineering teams to ensure technical compliance.
As Assistant Estimator - Construction / Civil Engineering, you’ll gain valuable experience in estimating for highway infrastructure projects, developing your skills whilst contributing to successful bid submissions for critical safety infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review tender documentation, drawings and specifications related to parapet systems and safety products
- Assist in preparing detailed cost estimates for supply and installation, including materials, labour, plant and subcontractor elements
- Work closely with design and engineering teams to ensure technical compliance and value engineering
- Identify risks, exclusions and opportunities within tenders and communicate them clearly
- Support bid submissions with pricing breakdowns, clarifications and supporting documentation
- Collaborate with the Estimator to ensure smooth handover of successful bids
- Use ERP systems to manage estimating data and documentation
- Develop understanding of parapet systems and highway safety infrastructure
