Ceto Talent is supporting a major infrastructure programme seeking an experienced Temporary Works Design Engineer to provide temporary works design expertise across a diverse portfolio of construction and engineering projects. This role will focus on the design, review and delivery of temporary works solutions, particularly scaffold systems, supporting project teams from concept through to construction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce temporary works designs, calculations and technical documentation
  • Develop practical, buildable engineering solutions
  • Ensure compliance with BS5975 and relevant industry standards
  • Review temporary works proposals, risk assessments and method statements
  • Support construction teams with technical advice and engineering assurance
  • Attend site visits and design reviews as required
  • Work closely with contractors, consultants and project stakeholders

Experience Required

  • Temporary Works Design experience within civil engineering, infrastructure or major construction projects
  • Strong understanding of BS5975 procedures and temporary works roles
  • Experience with scaffold design and associated temporary works solutions
  • Ability to produce engineering calculations and technical reports
  • Knowledge of steel and reinforced concrete structures
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills

Desirable

  • Chartered Engineer or working towards professional registration
  • Rail, transport or infrastructure sector experience
  • Experience working for a Tier 1 contractor or engineering consultancy
  • Knowledge of NEC contracts
