We are looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager to support the delivery of major Design Build rail and infrastructure projects across the South East. /p p br /p p This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative, people-focused business that works client-side on some of the UK’s most complex infrastructure programmes. The role combines hands-on commercial delivery with the opportunity to mentor junior colleagues, influence best practice and contribute to the continued growth of the business. /p p br /p p The Role /p p br /p p Working as part of an experienced commercial and project management team, you’ll provide both pre and post-contract commercial management services across major infrastructure projects, with a particular focus on the rail sector. /p p br /p p Supporting NEC Project Managers, you’ll take ownership of commercial activities including contract administration, cost management, change control, forecasting and contractor management, ensuring projects are delivered successfully while maintaining strong financial control throughout the project lifecycle. /p p br /p p The successful candidate will initially spend approximately 50% of their time supporting projects in the St Albans area, with hybrid working available and opportunities to support projects across the wider UK as the business continues to grow. /p p br /p p Key Responsibilities /p p br /p p You’ll provide commercial and contractual support throughout the full project lifecycle, ensuring projects remain commercially robust and contractually compliant. /p p br /p p Responsibilities will include preparing and managing project budgets, forecasts and cost reports, administering NEC contracts, managing compensation events and early warnings, assessing contractor applications and final accounts, monitoring project expenditure and supporting procurement activities. /p p br /p p You’ll work closely with Project Managers, engineers, planners and contractors to ensure commercial decisions align with project objectives while identifying risks, managing change and maintaining accurate commercial records. /p p br /p p The role also involves leading contractor meetings, undertaking commercial assurance reviews, supporting client reporting, mentoring junior Quantity Surveyors and contributing to continuous improvement across the commercial function. /p p About You /p p br /p p We’re looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager with a strong background delivering infrastructure projects within rail, highways or major civil engineering environments. /p p br /p p You’ll have extensive experience managing costs on complex projects together with an excellent working knowledge of NEC3 and NEC4 contracts. /p p br /p p Successful candidates are likely to have experience in: /p p br /p p NEC3 NEC4 Contract Administration /p p Cost Management Forecasting /p p Compensation Events Early Warnings /p p Change Control /p p Commercial Reporting /p p Contractor Subcontractor Management /p p Payment Applications Final Accounts /p p Procurement Tender Evaluation /p p Risk Opportunity Management /p p Client-Side Commercial Delivery /p p Major Rail, Highways or Infrastructure Projects /p p br /p p You’ll also be an excellent communicator, commercially astute and confident building relationships with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary project teams. /p p br /p p Essential Requirements /p p Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline. /p p Strong experience delivering infrastructure, rail, highways or major civil engineering projects. /p p Excellent working knowledge of NEC contracts. /p p Experience supporting or managing main works contracts. /p p Strong analytical, negotiation and commercial reporting skills. /p p Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced project environment. /p p Professional membership with RICS or a similar institution would be advantageous but is not essential. /p p br /p p Why Apply? /p p br /p p Competitive salary dependent on experience. /p p 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays. /p p Annual bonus scheme. /p p Private Medical Insurance. /p p Medicash Health Cash Plan. /p p Annual salary reviews. /p p Enhanced family leave policies. /p p Flexible and hybrid working. /p p Volunteering days. /p p Salary sacrifice and employee discount schemes. /p p Professional development and career progression. /p p Work for a recognised Times Top 100 Best Companies employer. /p p Supportive, collaborative and inclusive working culture. /p p br /p p Apply Today /p p br /p p If you’re an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager looking to work on major rail and infrastructure projects while progressing your career within a growing consultancy, we’d love to hear from you. /p p Apply today for a confidential discussion with the CETO Talent team. /p p /p
