Ceto Talent is partnering with a leading engineering business to recruit a Senior Process Design Engineer to lead the delivery of innovative water and wastewater treatment projects across the UK. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced process engineer who enjoys combining technical excellence with project leadership, helping to deliver sustainable treatment solutions that have a real impact on communities and the environment.
What you'll be doing:
- Leading the process design and delivery of water and wastewater treatment projects from concept through to commissioning.
- Developing process flow diagrams (PFDs), P&IDs, mass balances and process sizing calculations.
- Producing process control philosophies and hydraulic calculations for gravity and pumped systems.
- Leading HAZOP studies, design reviews and technical workshops with internal teams and clients.
- Preparing and reviewing technical specifications, reports and treatment system proposals.
- Providing expert technical support to multidisciplinary project teams, ensuring compliance with industry standards and environmental regulations.
- Identifying opportunities to improve process performance, reduce costs and enhance operational efficiency.
- Mentoring and developing junior engineers, sharing technical knowledge and supporting professional growth.
- Managing multiple projects, ensuring delivery to programme, budget and quality expectations.
- Building strong relationships with clients, regulators and key stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
We're looking for someone with:
- 7–10 years' experience in process engineering, including significant experience within the UK water or wastewater sector.
- A proven track record delivering complex water treatment projects from design through to commissioning.
- Strong expertise in process design, including PFDs, P&IDs, hydraulic calculations and HAZOP facilitation.
- Excellent knowledge of water treatment technologies, environmental regulations and industry standards.
- A degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Environmental Engineering or a related discipline.
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) status, or actively working towards chartership.
- Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
