Planning Engineer – Carbon Capture & Storage Project Location: Point of Ayr, Talacre, North Wales (fully site-based) Rate: Circa £475–£525 per day IR35: Outside Ltd company Working pattern: 5.5 days per week, with Saturdays worked when required Start date: ASAP Ceto Talent is recruiting a Planning Engineer to support a major carbon capture and storage construction project based on-site in North Wales. You will be responsible for developing, maintaining and monitoring the project schedule throughout the carbon capture construction phase, ensuring construction activities remain aligned with key project milestones. Responsibilities * Develop and maintain the carbon capture construction project schedule in line with contractual requirements and internal standards * Review the feasibility of the construction programme and identify potential risks, delays and critical activities * Implement the planning and progress-control system across the construction phase * Monitor carbon capture project performance and promptly identify and analyse deviations from the construction plan * Produce and maintain 90-day look-ahead, weekly and monthly construction schedules * Promote schedule awareness across the wider carbon capture project and construction teams * Support the Project Control Manager with construction progress updates and project status reports * Provide construction planning support for contract amendments, claims and time-impact assessments * Participate in project risk-management activities, including construction schedule-risk analysis * Work closely with construction, engineering and project-management teams to ensure accurate progress reporting throughout the carbon capture construction programme Experience required * Proven experience working in Planning Engineer positions * Strong planning experience within a major construction project environment * Previous experience working on EPC or EPCI construction projects * Experience planning and monitoring construction-phase activities * Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6 * Experience using Microsoft Project * Ability to produce construction look-ahead schedules, monitor progress and identify schedule deviations * Experience supporting construction claims or completing time-impact analysis would be advantageous * Experience within oil and gas, LNG, nuclear, petrochemical, refinery, decommissioning, energy-from-waste or other major energy construction projects will also be considered An OEUK medical will be required for the successful candidate. The rate is expected to be between £475 and £525 per day depending on experience, although there may be some flexibility for candidates with particularly strong and relevant experience.
