Ceto Talent are supporting a confidential public sector organisation in sourcing a Pensions Specialist with strong LGPS expertise for an initial contract opportunity. This Pensions Specialist role requires a technically strong individual who can confidently manage end-to-end pension administration within a fast-paced HR Shared Services environment.
Location: Hybrid (approx. 2 days onsite per week)
Contract Length: Ongoing contract
Rate: £33.93 per hour (umbrella)
Requirements
- Proven, recent experience working with the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS)
- Strong hands-on experience managing full pension lifecycle administration (starters, leavers, retirements, quotes)
- Ability to perform detailed pension calculations, including CARE elements
- Experience navigating and using LGPS portals
- Ability to manage technical pension queries independently and accurately
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when working with complex data
Key Responsibilities
The Pensions Specialist will manage end-to-end LGPS pension administration, including processing new starters and leavers, calculating retirement quotations, and handling pension-related queries through to resolution. You will be responsible for producing accurate pension calculations, including CARE elements, while ensuring compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
You will work closely with internal stakeholders, supporting HR Shared Services activity and maintaining high levels of accuracy across all pension processes. The role requires a hands-on approach, with responsibility for navigating LGPS systems, resolving technical queries, and ensuring timely and compliant delivery of pension services.
