Mechanical Fitter – Croydon Area

Ceto Talent is urgently hiring Mechanical Fitters for an established engineering workshop in Croydon. This ongoing role offers stability and growth in a busy environment working on the overhaul of mechanical equipment for sectors including rail, marine, and power.

Responsibilities

• Strip‑down, inspection, assembly, and testing of gearboxes, couplings, transmissions, and cooling systems.
• Reading technical drawings and working to precise tolerances.
• Maintaining high standards of safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years’ experience as a Mechanical Fitter, ideally with rotating equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work independently and in a team.
• Relevant qualifications or time‑served apprenticeship preferred.
• You must be eligible to work in the UK.

Benefits

• Salary: £29,000‑£43,000 (depending on experience).
• 36.5‑hour week: Mon‑Thu 07:00‑15:00, Fri 07:00‑13:30.
• Overtime available + annual bonus + benefits (pension, healthcare, life assurance).
