Ceto Talent is representing a leading international EPC contractor delivering a carbon capture energy infrastructure project in North Wales. We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Quantity Surveyor with strong piping and welding experience to support the management of construction quantities, progress measurement, reporting and subcontractor quantity control throughout the construction phase of this large-scale project.
The Role
As Mechanical Quantity Surveyor, you will support the implementation and operation of Management and Construction Information Systems used for the management of construction quantities, planning, progress recording, quality assessment, accounting of construction works and the collection of erected and installed quantities. The role will also involve supporting the implementation and coordination of Spooling, Welding and Material Traceability Systems across the project.
Key Responsibilities
- Update project Bills of Quantities through quantity record booklets in accordance with project procedures.
- Maintain and update project management databases with actual construction data.
- Supply and verify quantitative data required for extra works, dayworks, New Prices (NPs) and Change Work Orders (CWOs).
- Support the Discipline Superintendent and project management team in the definition and assessment of NPs and CWOs.
- Verify data consistency against company procedures, project agreements, preambles, price lists and subcontract requirements.
- Assist in the preparation of quantity management reports and construction cost estimates to complete.
- Monitor and verify daily manhours and equipment utilisation by subcontractors and direct hire personnel.
- Support the Construction Manager and Discipline Superintendent in the technical and administrative assessment of subcontractor and client claims.
- Coordinate with construction, quality, materials and project controls teams to ensure accurate quantity reporting and progress measurement.
- Support the management and coordination of welding, spooling and material traceability systems.
For candidates with suitable experience and seniority, there may also be responsibility for coordinating a team of Quantity Surveyors across multiple disciplines and ensuring project objectives are achieved.
Candidate Requirements
Experience
- Minimum 10 years' experience operating as a Mechanical Quantity Surveyor.
- Strong piping construction experience.
- Experience within major industrial, energy, oil & gas, petrochemical, power generation or infrastructure projects.
- Proven experience supporting construction quantity management throughout project execution.
Technical Knowledge
- Piping classes and material families.
- Weld mapping and welding traceability.
- Material traceability systems.
- Construction progress measurement and quantity reporting.
- Quantity management processes within large construction projects.
Software & Systems
- Microsoft Office 365.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Experience using construction quantity management, progress measurement or management information systems would be advantageous.
