Ceto Talent is partnering with a reputable utilities company to recruit an exceptional Head of Capital Delivery to lead the successful delivery of a major capital investment programme. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity where you’ll shape the future of critical infrastructure, taking full accountability for the delivery of large-scale capital programmes while driving operational excellence, innovation and long-term value.
Leading a multidisciplinary team of engineering, project delivery and technical professionals, alongside contractors and consultants, you’ll play a pivotal role in transforming the organisation’s capital delivery capability and ensuring investment programmes are delivered safely, efficiently and sustainably.
What you’ll be doing:
- Leading the strategic direction and delivery of a substantial capital investment programme across critical infrastructure assets.
- Taking full accountability for programme governance, capital expenditure, contractor performance and successful project delivery.
- Building and leading high-performing multidisciplinary teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement.
- Driving commercial performance by embedding value engineering, whole-life cost thinking and efficient investment strategies.
- Leading procurement, financial forecasting, budget management and capital planning activities.
- Developing and embedding robust programme governance, technical assurance and gateway review processes.
- Working closely with senior stakeholders, consultants and delivery partners to ensure successful programme execution.
- Championing engineering excellence, asset optimisation and technical innovation across the capital delivery function.
- Ensuring compliance with legislative, regulatory and health & safety requirements, including CDM Regulations.
- Supporting the organisation’s long-term strategic objectives, including sustainability and net zero ambitions.
We’re looking for someone with:
- Extensive experience leading complex capital programmes within utilities, infrastructure, power, transportation or a similar asset-intensive sector.
- A proven track record of delivering large-scale infrastructure projects through multidisciplinary teams and external delivery partners.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience in capital investment planning, forecasting and budget management.
- Experience developing programme governance frameworks, technical assurance processes and delivery standards.
- Excellent leadership, stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence at executive level.
- A degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
- Chartered status with a relevant professional institution and a recognised programme or project management qualification (APM, PRINCE2 or equivalent).
