Contract Details: * Long-term contract (12+ months) * Full-time, Outside IR35 * Location: South West London office / Hybrid working * Start date: ASAP * Rate: Negotiable depending on experience Offshore Geotechnical Engineer – Long Term Contract Opportunity Ceto Talent is recruiting on behalf of a leading global Offshore Energy EPC company, specialising in the installation of offshore structures and pipelines. We are seeking an experienced Offshore Geotechnical Engineer to join their team in Kingston upon Thames on a long-term contract basis (12+ months). This Geotechnical Engineer role offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge offshore projects, providing critical geotechnical expertise throughout the project lifecycle. About the Role: As an Offshore Geotechnical Engineer, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and interpreting geotechnical investigations to support the design and installation of offshore structures, including wind turbine foundations, oil & gas platforms, subsea pipelines, and seabed installations. This Geotechnical Engineer position involves soil interpretation, data analysis, and foundation design/installation recommendations while ensuring compliance with industry standards and project requirements. Key Responsibilities: * Plan offshore site investigations by defining scopes of work and selecting appropriate sampling/testing methods (e.g., CPT, boreholes) * Analyse soil data to interpret lab results and derive geotechnical parameters like shear strength and stiffness * Prepare technical reports, compile Geotechnical Interpretive Reports (GIRs) and Foundation Design Reports (FDRs) * Support foundation design by providing input for piles, suction caissons and shallow foundations * Perform pile analysis, calculate axial/lateral capacities and assess installation feasibility * Assist engineering phases, contribute to FEED and detailed design stages with geotechnical expertise * Ensure standards compliance following ISO, API, DNV codes and client specifications * Manage geotechnical risks, participate in HAZID/HAZOP and review third-party deliverables * Uphold safety & quality, align with HSEQ policies and maintain personal and team safety * Coordinate and collaborate with engineering teams and report findings to stakeholders What We\’re Looking For: * Proven experience in offshore geotechnical roles with pile foundations design and installation activities * Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil/Structural Engineering or similar discipline * Strong technical skills including shallow foundations, pile installation, CPT interpretation, soil-structure interaction and geotechnical data interpretation * Proficiency in Finite Element Analysis software (PLAXIS or ABAQUS) If you\’re a skilled Offshore Geotechnical Engineer looking for your next challenge with a world-class offshore energy contractor, we\’d love to hear from you.
