Ceto Talent is partnering with a leading EPC contractor, delivering large-scale and complex energy projects within the offshore sector. We are seeking an experienced FEA Structural Engineer. You will report to the Structural Design Lead within the Offshore Wind business line. The team you will join is the Floating Wind projects in FEED phase to contribute to defining structural design solutions and preparing the Project Structural Design reports.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Build structural models and run analyses using FEM tools such as SESAM, ABAQUS, ANSYS and in-house analysis software like SACS.
- Carry out detailed design calculations in line with the business’s requirements and current industry codes and standards, including DNV GL, API, AISC, EC and NORSOK.
- Review, comment on and approve structural drawings for steel structures based on the engineering design.
- Prepare clear, well-structured design reports and keep records following internal procedures.
- Make sure all work follows the business’s procedures and QHSE policies.
- Perform strength and fatigue assessments for floating substructures, using the appropriate tools to verify the design.
- Apply sound engineering principles to support the team’s work.
- Suggest alternative methods, such as sub-modelling or influence matrix approaches, to solve complex structural challenges.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in offshore structural engineering, ideally focused on floating wind design and modelling.
- Degree in civil, structural, mechanical, naval or a similar engineering discipline.
- Strong background in offshore structural stress analysis using finite element methods.
- Knowledge of floating wind structure and foundation design practices.
- Expert user of SESAM or similar FEA software.
- Existing right to live and work in the UK without sponsorship.
