We are delighted to be partnering with a leading utilities contractor to recruit an experienced Risk Manager for their Project Management Office (PMO). This is a pivotal opportunity for a driven, proactive professional who is passionate about enabling excellence across complex, non-infrastructure projects.
In this role, you will work closely with project teams and senior stakeholders to identify, assess, and manage risks and opportunities that directly influence performance, delivery, and long-term business success. You’ll lead structured risk processes across multiple projects, ensuring robust governance, clear visibility of emerging issues, and strong mitigation planning.
You will take ownership of monitoring risk exposure, analysing data, producing high-quality reports, and guiding informed decision-making. As a key contributor to the continuous improvement of the risk framework, you will support the organisation in embedding a forward-thinking, value-adding risk culture.
This position sits within a business recognised for its specialist expertise across mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control, and automation (MEICA), as well as civil engineering within the water sector. Their integrated delivery model spans everything from manufacturing and automation to systems integration and commissioning, backed by a strong reputation for safe, smart, and technically robust engineering.
What We’re Looking For

Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of integrated project risk management principles
- Proven experience facilitating risk workshops and engaging diverse stakeholders
- Ability to analyse qualitative and quantitative risk data (probabilistic modelling experience beneficial—training can be provided)
- Awareness of project controls and the relationship between cost, schedule, performance, and risk
- Familiarity with risk software and data visualisation tools (e.g., ARM, Xactium, Predict, Safran, @Risk, Tableau, Power BI)
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex concepts clearly and confidently
- Demonstrable experience delivering risk management solutions on complex or high-value projects
- Tier 1 contractor experience required; water industry experience desirable
- Desirable: Experience in utilities/environment sectors (ideally water) and IRM/APM risk qualifications (or working towards)
