E&P Design Engineer

Transforming the UK rail network with innovative, sustainable solutions. We\’re seeking a highly skilled E&P Design Engineer to join our team in Cheshire, working on high-profile rail projects that enhance the country\’s rail infrastructure and reduce environmental impact.

As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you\’ll be responsible for creating detailed E&P designs, ensuring compliance with Network Rail standards, BS7671, and other relevant UK regulations. You\’ll collaborate with stakeholders to deliver projects on time and within budget, from concept to detailed design stages. Your expertise in power distribution systems and associated plant equipment will be invaluable in driving the development of sustainable solutions.

Essential Requirements:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
  • Significant experience in E&P design within the UK rail sector
  • Proficiency in designing power supply systems and related rail plant equipment
  • Competent in using design software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, or BIM tools (e.g., Revit), Trimble ProDesign, Dialux / Relux, ETAP
  • Thorough understanding of Network Rail standards, BS7671, and other relevant UK regulations

Nice to Have Skills:

  • Chartered Engineer status (or working towards it) with a recognised institution (e.g., IET or PWI)
  • Experience with 25kV AC traction power systems
  • Knowledge of sustainable design practices and low-carbon solutions for rail projects
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2 or Agile)
