Ceto Talent is supporting a well-established engineering and manufacturing organisation based in Croydon, operating across multiple sectors with a strong focus on rail engineering solutions for the UK and Ireland markets. This permanent Quality Engineer (Rail Engineering) role supports both new build rail engineering programmes and aftermarket rail services, including repair, overhaul, and field-based engineering support.
About You
- Proven experience working in a Quality Engineering role within a manufacturing, engineering, or industrial environment.
- Experience supporting rail engineering, rolling stock, rail systems, or rail-aligned engineering activities is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of quality management systems, quality assurance processes, and compliance requirements.
- Confidence working with engineering, workshop, and service teams across rail engineering and aftermarket environments.
- Ability to investigate non-conformances, support corrective actions, and contribute to continuous improvement.
- Strong attention to detail with clear, structured documentation capability.
- Experience working within regulated or safety-critical engineering environments is beneficial.
- Willingness to support overtime activity when required to meet operational or customer demands.
- Must be eligible to work in the UK on a permanent basis.
The Role
As Quality Engineer (Rail Engineering), you will support quality activities across rail engineering operations, including workshop-based repair and overhaul and support to field service activity. The role involves maintaining quality standards across rail engineering programmes, supporting audits, managing quality documentation, and working closely with engineering and service teams to ensure products and services meet required rail and industry standards. You will play an important role in embedding quality across both new build and aftermarket rail engineering activities.

- Investigate non-conformances and support corrective and preventive actions.
- Work closely with rail engineering, workshop, and field service teams to maintain quality standards.
