Ceto Talent is recruiting for an experienced CNC Machinist to join a well‑established, site‑based engineering workshop in West London. This is a hands‑on role within a collaborative team environment, where machinists work closely together to deliver high‑quality components in a safety‑critical setting.
About You
- You must hold a recognised engineering apprenticeship or equivalent technical qualification to be considered for this role.
- Proven experience programming, setting, and operating CNC machines.
- Experience with Okuma controls (essential); Heidenhain or Fanuc considered.
- Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings.
- Strong machining experience across a range of tools and materials.
- Experience preparing and proving NC programmes.
- Competent in inspecting components to tight tolerances.
- Comfortable working in a safety‑critical, team‑based workshop environment.
The workshop operates a mix of CNC and manual machinery, with a strong emphasis on precision, teamwork, and maintaining high safety standards. Key Responsibilities
- Program, set, and operate CNC machines (primarily milling).
- Manufacture, modify, and repair components to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Prepare and run NC programmes, including tooling and fixture setup.
- Operate a range of CNC and manual workshop machinery.
- Inspect finished components using gauges and measuring equipment.
- Maintain machinery including coolants, lubricants, and tooling.
- Complete job documentation and maintain accurate records.
- Support and assist other workshop staff where required.
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards at all times.
6-month contract based on site in West London, working Monday to Friday with some overtime available. Rate is 40.54 per hour (Umbrella).
