We are currently recruiting for an experienced Railway Interface & Integration Manager to support a major rail infrastructure portfolio within a complex operational railway environment. This role sits within a busy delivery coordination team responsible for managing railway access requirements across multiple capital projects and programmes. The successful candidate will play a critical role in coordinating access strategies, supporting operational integration and ensuring project delivery teams can maximise available working time safely and efficiently.
This is a fast-paced environment requiring someone who can work confidently with minimal supervision and effectively manage changing priorities and operational demands.
The Role
- Coordinate and manage railway access requirements across multiple projects and workstreams
- Convert construction activities and delivery programmes into tangible access requests and logistics plans
- Provide expert advice on railway interface, access and protection arrangements
- Support project teams with access strategy and optimisation of available working windows
- Review engineering plans, works programmes and signalling layouts to determine access requirements
- Use the RailSys booking system to manage and coordinate access bookings
- Liaise with operational railway teams, contractors and stakeholders to resolve access and integration issues
- Assess programme options and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and working access
- Attend and support delivery coordination meetings, resolving issues and managing emerging access challenges
- Support mitigation planning where unforeseen operational or programme changes occur
Essential Experience
- Previous experience within a Railway Interface, Access Planning or Integration Management role
- Strong experience booking and coordinating rail access / train access
- Experience using the RailSys booking system
- Strong understanding of operational railway access and protection arrangements
- Ability to interpret engineering plans, works programmes and signalling diagrams
- Experience working within a railway project or operational environment
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, operationally critical environment
Desirable Experience
- London Underground or metro rail experience
- Experience supporting major infrastructure or capital delivery programmes
- Knowledge of installation and construction methodologies within rail environments
- Understanding of railway operational risk and mitigation planning
Working Arrangement
Hybrid working model (50% office / home working) Based across Central London offices and operational sites where required
