HSE Engineer – Tier 1 EPC Contractor – Energy Infrastructure Projects – Carbon Capture * Outside IR35 * Negotiable Day Rate – dependent on experience level * Contract Duration until 2028/29 * 5.5 Days per week (Saturday mornings when required – 5 hours) * Weekly Pay * North Wales / 5% Occasional Trips to London office * Start in Nov/Dec * On-site facilities for food, parking available Ceto Talent is recruiting for an experienced HSE Engineer to join one of the UK’s largest carbon capture energy transition projects. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a long-term major Tier 1 EPC project supporting the engineering, development and construction phases of a major Liverpool Bay decommissioning and Carbon Capture & Storage development. Reporting to the Project HSE Manager, you will support the development, management and continuous improvement of the project safety management system throughout the EPIC project lifecycle, with a strong focus on HSE assurance, risk management, regulatory compliance and project HSE deliverables. Responsibilities * Plan, define and supervise HSE procedures at both project and construction level. * Lead project HSE risk management activities, including HAZOP, HAZID, Hazard and Effect Management Processes and Risk Assessments. * Support implementation of and compliance with contractual, legislative and regulatory HSE requirements. * Plan and conduct internal HSE audits. Coordinate and prepare HSE files, documentation and project deliverables in accordance with CDM Regulations. * Lead accident and incident investigations, identifying root causes and corrective actions.Carry out supplier HSE evaluations and readiness reviews. * Review supplier and subcontractor HSE documentation to ensure compliance with project requirements. * Provide cover where required for HSE Trainer, Permit to Work Officer and HSE Officer responsibilities. * Record, coordinate and monitor project HSE performance and KPIs. * Support the wider Project HSE Manager and project team throughout the delivery of this major energy infrastructure programme. Requirements * Proven HSE experience within the Oil & Gas industry and major onshore construction projects. * Strong experience in HSE risk management processes including HAZOP, HAZID and formal Risk Assessment. * Experience working with construction design regulations, including CDM-related HSE requirements and documentation. * Experience undertaking HSE audits, incident investigations and supplier or subcontractor HSE assurance activities. * Strong knowledge of HSE legislation, project procedures and regulatory requirements. * Experience relating to construction design regulation management and survey / investigation activities. Qualifications * NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent HSE qualification, or relevant engineering-related qualification. * ISO 45001 Lead Auditor Certification.
