About the Role
As an Engineering Apprentice, you will be part of a highly skilled team of engineers, working in conjunction with NSCG in a full-time role. We are looking for our future Engineers to take on a comprehensive 3-year apprenticeship programme designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge needed to become a successful service engineer. The apprenticeship combines hands-on experience, classroom-based learning and mentorship from our experienced Technical Engineers, preparing you for a rewarding career with us.
College Attendance:
Each year, you will attend Stafford Technical College (NSCG) for a total of 10 weeks, delivered in blocks of one to two weeks and spread throughout the year.
- Complete all college work to the best of your abilities
On the job:
- Wear PPE as instructed and follow Health and Safety guidance at all times
- Assist in the maintenance, repair and servicing of equipment under the supervision of Workshop Supervisors
- Learn to diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues
- Participate in any training, e-learning or tool box talks as required
- Use tools and equipment responsibly, and are well looked after
- Interact professionally with customers, internally and externally
- Be self-motivated and work collaboratively with your mentor
- Day to day maintenance and service of kit at the depot or on customer sites (with supervision)
- Any other ad hoc duties as defined by your line manager
About you
No work experience? That’s ok! We value ambition to begin a career in engineering and are looking for someone who shares our enthusiasm for learning, above all else. All we ask is that you:

- want to learn on the job and during your college placements
- want to learn from our experienced team
- are inquisitive and ask lots of questions
- are serious about working safely
Essential Qualifications
Maths and English at Grade 4 or above (or equivalent)
