Job Purpose
To carry out the inspection, testing, and preparation of generators and associated equipment, ensuring all equipment meets company and customer requirements. Full training will be provided; however, relevant transferable skills are desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out checking, testing, and preparation of generators up to 1250kVA in line with company procedures
- Test associated equipment including cables, distribution boards, and fuel tanks
- Load and unload generators and equipment from lorries using a fork truck
- Safely manoeuvre and position equipment within the yard and workshop
- Complete digital job cards and associated documentation accurately and on time
- Ensure all work is carried out in full compliance with company Health & Safety procedures
- Identify and report faults, damage, or non-conformances to supervisors
- Represent the company professionally at all times, maintaining positive working relationships with customers and colleagues
- Work independently or as part of a team to meet operational and service targets
- Maintain good housekeeping standards within the workshop and yard
Skills & Experience (Desirable, Not Essential)
- Previous experience in a mechanical, electrical, plant, or equipment testing environment
- Forklift truck experience (training can be provided if required)
- Familiarity with generators, plant equipment, or power systems (advantageous but not essential)
- Basic electrical or mechanical understanding
- Experience using digital systems or job management software
