TB Nurse Specialist in Luton, Bedfordshire

Band: 6 Role: TB Nurse Specialist (Requires a background in TB Nursing and Screening)

Duties:

• Provide specialist nursing advice for both primary and secondary care and work to prevent TB by vaccination, education and the monitoring of patients receiving care and treatment.
• In conjunction with UK Health Security Agency Staff, primary and secondary care this post implements preventative and infection control measures according to agreed protocols.
• To assist with support with patient care working within a multi-disciplinary team across all directorates and departments.

Skills:

• RGN Qualification
• Current NMC Registration
• Post registration experience in community or acute setting
• Sound knowledge and experience of TB management
• Experience of developing/ working with protocols/ PGD and clinical pathways
• Experience of working within a community or infection control setting
• Knowledge of screening and immunisation programmes
• Excellent Communication Skills
• Computer skills Word, PowerPoint & Excel
• Ability to work as an individual in a multi-disciplinary team
• Ability to work autonomously
• Ability to demonstrate flexibility in clinical situations
• Ability to undertake immunisations
• Good team player
• Adaptability to client services and need
• Ability to undertake patient assessments and related work in a variety of settings in a timely manner
