Band: 6 Role: TB Nurse Specialist (Requires a background in TB Nursing and Screening)
Duties:
- Provide specialist nursing advice for both primary and secondary care and work to prevent TB by vaccination, education and the monitoring of patients receiving care and treatment.
- In conjunction with UK Health Security Agency Staff, primary and secondary care this post implements preventative and infection control measures according to agreed protocols.
- To assist with support with patient care working within a multi-disciplinary team across all directorates and departments.
Skills:
- RGN Qualification
- Current NMC Registration
- Post registration experience in community or acute setting
- Sound knowledge and experience of TB management
- Experience of developing/ working with protocols/ PGD and clinical pathways
- Experience of working within a community or infection control setting
- Knowledge of screening and immunisation programmes
- Excellent Communication Skills
- Computer skills Word, PowerPoint & Excel
- Ability to work as an individual in a multi-disciplinary team
- Ability to work autonomously
- Ability to demonstrate flexibility in clinical situations
- Ability to undertake immunisations
- Good team player
- Adaptability to client services and need
- Ability to undertake patient assessments and related work in a variety of settings in a timely manner
Start Date & Location : ASAP – LUTON
Placement Length: Ongoing
Working Pattern: Monday Friday
Hours: 09:00-17:00 (37.5 hours per week)
