About the Role

We are seeking a self-motivated and enthusiastic Project Manager to join our Development Engineering team. Reporting to the Development and Innovations Manager, you will collaborate with multiple stakeholders across the business (Product Managers, Sales Managers, and Engineering Team Managers) and external partners (suppliers and contractors) to manage product development projects from concept through to production. Projects range from incremental improvements to full development of new products and technologies, including prototyping and proof-of-concept work requiring an agile and resource-efficient approach.

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage product development projects end-to-end, from inception to operational deployment, aligned with business strategy
  • Lead cross-functional teams in a matrix environment to deliver innovative engineering solutions for regulated industries
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget
  • Coordinate internal teams and external suppliers/contractors, ensuring quality and performance standards
  • Define project plans, milestones, resources, and deliverables, and drive execution to achieve expected outcomes
  • Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies throughout the project lifecycle
  • Act as the central point of contact for stakeholders across Service, Manufacturing, Sales, Suppliers, and Customers
  • Ensure clear communication and stakeholder alignment across all project phases
  • Provide regular project updates to senior management and support continuous improvement of project management processes
  • Contribute to technical specifications, customer interactions, and collaborative project communication
  • Promote structured project delivery using appropriate tools (e.g. design reviews, scheduling, time tracking) and ensure commercial awareness within the team

What You Need to Be Successful

  • Qualified to degree level in electrical/electronic/robotic engineering or mechatronics
  • Qualified project manager with strong PM principles
  • Strong leadership skills in managing personnel in a matrix organisation
  • Problem solving & lateral thinking skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills appropriate to a highly technical environment
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in an end-to-end Project manager role
