A growing, tech-led MSP is hiring a Technical Consultant to join its Professional Services team, delivering Microsoft-focused projects across a broad customer base. This is a delivery-first role — not pre-sales, not architecture, and no sales quota.
The Role
- You'll take scoped projects and own delivery end-to-end. That means:
- Translating customer requirements into technical solutions
- Producing Statements of Work and documentation
- Delivering implementations, migrations, and onboarding
- Acting as a trusted advisor to clients
You'll work closely with PMs, Account Managers, and internal teams to ensure projects land successfully. Rough split: ~90% delivery / ~10% pre-sales input.
Tech Focus (Core Requirement)
This role is heavily Microsoft-led. You'll need strong experience across:
- Microsoft 365 (Intune, Autopilot, Defender)
- Azure (solid working knowledge)
- Endpoint / application management
Broader exposure is useful but not essential:
- VMware / Nutanix
- Veeam / Zerto
- Backup / DR technologies
What They’re Looking For
- 3–5+ years in an MSP or technical consulting role
- Strong Microsoft ecosystem experience
- Proven project delivery experience
- Comfortable producing SoWs and technical documentation
- Confident working directly with customers at all levels
This is a client-facing role, so communication matters as much as technical depth.
The Environment
- Small, collaborative business (~20 people)
- Non-siloed — you’ll work across teams
- High autonomy, low bureaucracy
- Wear multiple hats culture
Fully remote day-to-day, with:
- Occasional client travel
- Office visit every 4–8 weeks
- Quarterly company meetups
Why This Role?
- Delivery-focused (not stuck in pre-sales)
- Exposure to a modern Microsoft stack
- Clear progression toward Solution Architect
- Strong flexibility and autonomy
- Growing business with real momentum
The Reality
This is for someone who:
- Enjoys getting things done, not just designing
- Can handle customers directly
- Is comfortable owning outcomes end-to-end
If you’re overly niche or prefer staying purely hands-off, this won’t fit. If you like delivery, variety, and being trusted with clients, it’s a strong move.
